I had wondered earlier about a small packet found inside the bottle containing Vitamin capsules. It was made of cotton cloth with some sand-like contents inside it. It also bore the printed words: THROW AWAY. DO NOT EAT. It is the Desiccant packet that keeps the bottle of vitamin capsules dry. It does this by absorbing the water in the air present inside the bottle. Its sand-like contents are the chemicals like Silica Gel, Calcium sulphate or Calcium chloride. These protect the main contents that get easily deteriorated in the presence of moisture. These inert and stable substances are wonder chemicals that protect and preserve medicines and others, that are essential to protect and save our lives!
